He's a killer you can root for. He's a killer you can sympathize with. He's good looking, well mannered and takes on a Superman role, only this action figure thrives on the kill. Showtime has announced its up and coming TV series Dexter. Based on the book by Jeff Lindsay called Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Michael C. Hall plays Dexter. I have seen the commercials and it appears actor Michael Hall has nailed down this complex character quite well. His character Dexter is a sociopath on a good will mission to stimulate his need to kill and do it above the law.
 
Something happened to Dexter and Harry, a friend of his knows and in the book Harry tells Dexter, "I know you're a good kid. But what happened to you when you were a little kid shaped you. ... It's going to make you want to kill. And you can't help that. Choose what ... or who ... you kill ... There are plenty of people who deserve it." 
 
We can appreciate vengeance. We appreciate an eye for an eye especially if it was ours that was taken out by another mans violence at our loved ones. Yet some agree, its not a healthy place for any man to hold onto. The reward is short. Will this be a hit? I predict it will be a huge hit!  Absolutely, hugely successful! I'm sure it will win awards and get major attention from the media. This series is too controversial to bite the dust.
 
The show has a unique premise. Dexter is a forensic who works for the police department helping to catch the other bad guy. The show will be packed with action and suspense watching the characters passionately work to solve crimes. And with a serial killer in their midst who also has your back, I wonder what shoulder we should pat. I think Showtime will get plenty of publicity for this daring plot line and some will fight to get it off the air. We're afraid of character's like Dexter Morgan because there is a little bit of him in most of us.   I'm curious about this show but I will try not to tune in. Its out of respect for the living on this planet that the effort will be made. 
 
As we say, some things are too good to be true or as I say, some things feel too good to be told.
