Raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wade Williams initially studied medicine at the University of Tulsa. To put himself through college, he worked in the surgery department for six years at St. John's Hospital. It wasn't until the age of 25 that Wade started acting. He sang in the church choir and his voice teacher suggested he audition for a musical coming to town. Sure enough he booked the job and went on to get his graduate degree in acting at Rutgers University.
Wade arrived in New York City in 1990, By 1991, he made his Off Broadway debut starring opposite Morgan Freeman and Tracy Ullman in TAMING OF THE SHREW in Central Park's Delacorte Theatre. By 1992, Wade was starring in Broadway productions such as LES MISERABLES and GUYS AND DOLLS.
Wade most recently completed filming FLICKA for Fox 2000, JARHEAD Sam Mendes' new picture for Universal and high profile independent THANK YOU FOR SMOKING. Wade has also appeared in such features as COLLATERAL, ALI and ERIN BROCKOVICH
On television, Wade will be seen this fall on Fox's new series PRISON BREAK.
He has made numerous other television appearances some of which include OVER THERE, SIX FEET UNDER, 24, NYPD BLUE and CSI.
