Amaury Nolasco, a native of Puerto Rico, studied biology as a full-time student at the University of Puerto Rico. Initially he intended to enroll in medical school and become a doctor, but as fate would have it, he was approached by a director and immediately cast in his first television commercial. After several acting gigs, Nolasco moved to New York, where he trained at the American British Dramatic Arts School. Classically trained in Shakespearean drama, the young actor focused on dialect technique, character work and stage presence.
Shortly thereafter, Nolasco began guest-starring on various hit television shows such as “Arli$$,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “ER.” He received his first supporting role in a studio film as “Orange Julius” in Universal’s hit sequel “2 Fast 2 Furious.” Nolasco brought charm to the role of the rival who challenges Paul Walker’s character in the opening car race. He went on to co-star opposite Bernie Mac in “Mr. 3000.”
Nolasco’s additional television credits include guest-starring roles on “George Lopez,” “Eve” and “CSI: NY.” He will next be seen in the comedy film “Benchwarmers” opposite Rob Schneider and David Spade.
When not shooting in Chicago, Nolasco resides in Los Angeles and enjoys golf and tennis.
